Today, I am less sad/bewildered and more annoyed/incredulous about the whole ridiculous Affair of the Green House. I'm going to take my blog back. I have some real life tasks to accomplish first, but if you are interested in this saga, stay tuned for more.

I find it very ironic that you have so much contempt towards your neighbors. The very act that offends you (the petition) is one that you too are guilty of committing. I’m of course speaking of this web site in which you make frequent disparaging references towards your neighbors and belittle there opinions and concerns. They too have a right to publicly express there feelings and concerns in a manner that they feel appropriate.
After reviewing several of the posting listed in this site, it’s apparent that the narcissistic lenses in which you view the world keep you from seeing the bigger picture. I can only hope that your daughters will hold others in a fairer regard.

Funny how "In all fairness" makes the same sorts of grammatical errors that the original petition writer did. (And that no one corrected.)
Seems to me that if your neighbors are so worried about property values, they should focus on the schools in your neighborhood. Clearly they aren't doing a very good job.
I mean, gee, Beth, do you really want your kids growing up to think that one looks IN lenses rather than THROUGH them or that Alanis Morissette's definition of "ironic" is really the correct one?
Lovely Fairfax County, Virginia, where I live, has a good standard of living and our schools are some of the best in the land.
Maybe you should move. In my homeowners-association-free neighborhood, we really don't give a damn what color our neighbors paint their houses. And my brother is an idiot, but even he got out of Fairfax County Public Schools knowing the difference between "their" and "there."
