My Breastfeeding Hero
To the woman who was breastfeeding in the background during a congressional hearing on C-Span:
WAY TO GO!
Daily Show viewers will have noticed that she accomplished this:
- While wearing a pretty, stylish top
- Without flashing any nipple
- With zero disruption of the speaker (because nursing babies are happy and quiet)
Thank you, C-Span mom, whoever you are, for demonstrating that nursing in public* is perfectly appropriate, wherever you might happen to be.
* With-it mom acronym for nursing in public is NIP. Really.

I missed the video clip! What a great find.
Hope all is well!

So, when you are breastfeeding in public, you are NIPping? That's just awesome.

iBeth: You are doing great with 20mos of breastfeeding. My twins nursed for 17 1/2 mos and 18 1/2 mos. My last baby is now 13mos and still going strong. My twins were on a schedule. My baby now nurses when he wants to and yes, at night more often than in the beginning it seems like. Wonder why???

Thanks, OhioCheryl! I am not sure why toddlers love nighttime nursing so much . . . maybe because it's as much about comfort and love as it is about nourishment. The nighttime nursings are my favorite, too. :)

My little boy, who's 16 months is the same. I daren't sit down in the evening time or he comes toddling over making squeaky happy noises and starts tugging at my top!
