After one of those, "What do you want to eat?" "I don't know, what do YOU want to eat?" conversations, my husband and I settled on the perfect menu:
Noodles Jefferson and two types of fruit.
Emma chose the fruit. I had to adjust this recipe, which serves 100, but that wasn't hard--something like, "Cook pasta. Toss with oil and grated cheese. Serve with salt and pepper." Also, we didn't have plain noodles, so I actually fixed "Wagon Wheels Jefferson." And I served a salad on the side (not pictured).
The family LOVED Noodles Jefferson! Both girls AND their father ate seconds! I may have laughed at Duncan Hunter when I saw him discussing the Guantanamo menu on the Daily Show [at the end of the linked videoclip], but I now admit: Rep. Hunter may be on to something. I'll probably serve Noodles Jefferson again. Perhaps with Bananas Bush for dessert.
[Jon Stewart's comment: Noodles Jefferson! I think I went to high school with that guy.]

we saw you recipe and we saw the daily show thing and decided we gotta try this noodles jefferson meal, with two types of fruite of course. we didn't have the noodles so we had to improvise and use mac n cheese, so it was more like Mac Jefferson, Noodle's older brother. we had it with apples and bananas, and let us tell you, it was downright delicious, selacious even. yeah. sweet.

Hi Matt & Sean,
I was laughing at the idea of "noodles jefferson" being posh food . . . but it does taste pretty good! My kids still ask for it. Mac Jefferson sounds even better. Glad we aren't the only ones choosing our dinner menu from c-span. Thanks for stopping by!
