This "library lookup" web tool is super nifty. With it, you can click find any book in amazon or barnes & noble online, then click on this bookmark in your browser, and the bookmark will find the book in the catalog of your local library. If your local library offers a book delivery program, as mine does, you can submit your request online and the book will be delivered to your door--for free! Of course you eventually must return the book, but if your bookshelves are as overloaded as mine, that's a blessing.
It's extremely easy to generate a bookmarklet for your local library. This site will tell you how. (For anyone who uses the Orange County Library System, the vendor is "Innovative," the first choice on the list.)
